Gornergrat

The Gornergrat is a scenic part of the Pennine Alps, known for its rack railway – the highest of its kind in Europe. It features a railway station, a hotel, two astronomical observatories, and sweeping views of the mountainous surrounding area including the iconic Matterhorn. As well as panoramic vistas of the local landscape, it’s also a great place to spot unique flora and fauna, including wild ibex in summer.
